In Empty Chair Theatre Company's premiere production opened June of 2007 at H-B Woodlawn's Black Box Theatre. The company performed scene's from Romeo and Juliet, Measure for Measure, A Midsummer Night's Dream, TItus Andronicus, Othello, Hamlet, Taming of the Shrew, Comedy of Errors, Love's Labour's Lost and Macbeth. Company founders Elizabeth Nearing and Julia Sears directed as well as acted in the production. The Shakespeare Showcase began the company's principle of intensely collaborative productions that allow performers to explore many different aspect of live theatre.
